What Happened?
08 September 2009: A U.S. drone strike targeted a house in the Darga Mandi area of North Waziristan Agency. The attack targeted the house of a local Ismail Khan and other nearby homes. The CIA alleged that it had targeted Haqqani Network militants.
Media reports from that time indicate that at least 3 children and 2 women were among the dead. A report from TheNews names ten militants who were killed in this attack.
Given this rare coverage, this is one of the rare U.S. drone attacks that can be considered documented and will not be targeted for fieldwork.
