What Happened?
08 September 2010: A U.S. drone strike destroyed two houses in the Danda Darpa Khel area of Miranshah. The house belonged to a local man Din Muhammad. Four children, two girls and two boys, were killed in this attack. An adjacent house that reportedly had Haqqani Network militants was also destroyed.
The U.S. government denied that the children had been killed at all, and instead blamed two injuries from a secondary explosion from an alleged car bomb that the militants were making. This false denial came in the face of primary fieldwork commissioned by Western journalists.
The identities of the Haqqani Network militants, if any were present, are not yet known.
