What Happened?
30 September 2013: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a house in the Boya Kalay area of Datta Khel Tehsil. This attack reportedly began at around 0405 hours. Media reports quote intelligence officials as reporting that insurgents had been killed, however it was not possible to independently confirm the identities of the dead.
Data published years later by FATA officials indicate that the local administration was not cognisant in thinking the destroyed house was a militant outpost. However, the data says only one person was killed in this attack. This is last known U.S. drone attack to be logged in publicly released Pakistan’s official records. It is not known if the state’s documentation project was stopped here.
Given the media ambiguity, this is one of the least documented U.S. drone attacks in the region.
