What Happened?
26 November 2010: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a car in the Pir Killi area of Mirali. This attack happened at around 1717 hours. The initial media reports alleged that up to four suspected militants had been killed. It later emerged that the passengers of the vehicle were students of the local college, moving from Mirali to Miranshah.
One of the dead was 17-year-old Sanaullah Jan, an engineering student at the Government Degree College in Mirali. The bodies of the victims had been burnt so badly that visual identification was impossible. Sanaullah was positively identified by friends and family using his ID. The community testified that Sanaullah had no connections whatsoever to any militant groups.
